Spring has sprung. It’s filled with sunny skies, longer days and new iced coffee flavors. Through the sniffles and teary eyes of allergies, we see our timelines and newsfeeds filled with graduations and weddings. Your best friend’s wedding, your cousin’s wedding, your wedding, everyone’s wedding. Whether you’re the beautiful bride, dutiful bridesmaid, or a stylish guest aiming to put your best stiletto forward, the hairstyle you choose is the icing on the cake of your wedding style. You need a style that makes a statement and maintains its integrity throughout the day. So, here are three natural hair bridal hairstyles with the same base of flat twists, tiny twists and beautiful accessories.

Bridal Flat Twist & Roll.

My hair is flat-twisted on the side and back, with small single twists on the top. I split the section of loose twists in two sections, and rolled and pinned each section towards the middle of my head. Then I added one bejeweled hair comb to the part, and a wider comb to the front. The two clips marry together for a match made in natural-hair bridal heaven.

Flat twists with small loose single twists.

For this nuptial updo, the same flat twists are in the back, but the loose twists are as free was they want to be. I added a headband to the front for some wedding sparkle. For a fuller look, try larger looser twists. For another twist on this style, untwist the twists at top or set the twists on perm or flexi rods.

Rolled and Twisted Pompadour.

This style gives me retro vibes with pomp, circumstance and giant bedazzled faux foliage. The back was pinned into a French roll and the front was tucked into a pompadour bang. A large flower clip was the perfect addition to add bridal flair to this natural hairstyle. If you love the style but you are don’t have the length, try adding length with twist extensions.

The great thing about flat twists and small twists is that they are malleable enough to do different styles with a few twists and bobby pins.  To maintain your twists post-wedding, tie down your updo with a scarf before bed. If your twists start to loose their length over time, you can stretch them with 5 – 6 large loose twists. For extra stretch you can pull the ends of the twists and pin down the ends to your scalp. For shine, add your favorite hair oil.
