Autumn Footwear Style Guide Featuring Sperry Shoes

The transition from summer to fall is one of my family’s most favorite times of the year. For us, it’s a season of several traditions that we’ve created on our own. One of which—a personal favorite—is family fall pictures. Now this year fall in our area may have been fashionably late, but thanks to Sperry, me and my family were right on time for the rainy, cool, and windy weather that fall in East Tennessee brings.

With such a beautiful backdrop and weather worthy of sweaters, wool socks, and boots, I called our go-to photographer and hit the city for a fun and fashionable day of playing and shooting pictures. Speaking of boots, this was a perfect opportunity for us to lace up our new Sperry warm and water-resistant boots.

Now my guys are picky about their shoes, especially my son Garrison. He’s a little budding fashion icon with a keen and very individual, sense of matching textures and colors. Plus he is very particular about how his shoes fit. He gave me the blues about his shirt but he loved how his boots had a lace-up closure for the snug fit he likes. This proved to be clutch for Garrison because my son is super active and he was ripping and running as if he was in his running shoes.

Now, my husband, he has big feet—size 14. And while he’s not a simple man per se, form definitely comes before fashion for him. But once he laced his boots up and started walking around a bit he totally noticed the lightweight and low profile construction and build of the shoe.

Having big feet and heavy shoes can be clunky according to the Hubs, but let me tell you, he didn’t mumble once. My man had a confident walk to him that I loved. His boots didn’t scream and overshadow his look. He told me that they are going to be in his rotation for fall/winter this year. Y’all, this is HUGE for a man that wears the same shoes day in and day out.

Of course, I love my guys looking good for our pictures and I like looking good for them too! But as much as we dressed for our shots, we all felt so natural and comfortable. That’s the holy grail for me. When I can flex my inner fashionista while being comfortable and cute I know I have achieved my goal. And let me tell you, I think Sperry helped me nail my look, and my guys’ looks too.

Now we didn’t get caught in the rain but we are ready. I think we had a light mist forecasted but the sky just never graced us with any moisture. Either way though, we were ready. All of our Sperry boots were designed with a Signature non-marking rubber outsole for greater wet/dry traction. I’m not as hard on my shoes as my guys are but judging by how they played together between shots, they were comfy and safe without leaving any marks or signs that they were horsing around.

Our look didn’t go unnoticed by others as several people complimented us during our shoot. There’s nothing better than thinking you look the part and then being told by someone you don’t know that you actually do. All of our boots were a hit for us. Especially Garrison, it was just a cuteness overload. Who doesn’t love seeing kids play in leaves? I could watch my family all day.
