It’s true! “Women be shoppin’, women be shoppin’ ” Well lately, I have been shopping with black women for certain products. So when I contacted Brittany Spencer, owner of Curfew, to inquire about one of her all natural hand made soap bars I was instantly impressed with her customer service and knowledge of ingredients. Not only did she offer to make a custom bar that would better suit my needs, she let me know the exact ingredients it would be made of. This made me even more ready to purchase! Upon browsing the site, I learned Brittany has so much more to offer and I am down to give it a try.
Here is a list of products I am trying:
Custom Facial Bar:
Price: $5.00
Ingredients: saponified shea butter and mango butter, activated charcoal, hibiscus, organic oats, tea tree oil, vitamin e, & lemongrass essential oil
Comments: This bar smells AMAZING. It helps with acne, dry skin, oily skin, blackheads, razor bumps, and eczema. I placed my order with special instructions that included ingredients suggested by Brittany. If you have a particular concern or request, she is more than willing to help.
Facial Toner & Makeup Remover:
Price: $7.00
Ingredients: organic coconut water infused with chamomile, rosemary, & sorrel leaves, cactus water, witch hazel, organic apple cider vinegar, quinoa extract, lemon essential oil, tea tree oil & grapefruit essential oil
Comments: This all natural product is suitable for all skin types and also smells like paradise. After struggling with acne prone skin for many years, I am super paranoid about trying anything new on my skin. However, I am looking forward to using this all natural product that doubles as makeup remover and is great for pigmentation correction.
Seal & Heal Botanical Infused Oil:
Price: $9.00
Ingredients: Ingredients: avocado oil infused with mint, burdock root, chamomile, hibiscus, lavender, rosemary, & ginger root, organic extra virgin olive oil, grapeseed oil, chia seed oil, hydrolyzed quinoa extract, vitamin e, tea tree oil, lemon essential oil, peppermint essential oil, eucalyptus essential oil
Comments: Okay, the name of this product sounds like its sent directly from heaven. Made to reduce shedding, strengthen hair, and add shine, this has to the ultimate protective styling maintenance product. Since it also helps with dandruff and dry scalp, I will be using this product in my hair and my son’s hair. (He has a full head of 4c curls)
Define & Shine Styling Custard:
Price: $10.00
Ingredients: organic flaxseed gel, organic aloe vera gel, avocado oil, organic coconut oil, organic raw agave, lemon essential oil, eucalyptus essential oil, vitamin e, tea tree oil, collagen, hydrolyzed quinoa extract, pectin, xantham gum
Comments: This is my suggested must have product. This product defined my curls without weighing them down. I have a tapered cut, so I am all about volume! I can’t achieve the volume I like if I use any product that weighs down me hair. The styling custard worked perfectly for me. I used it with a wash and go. Other suggested styling options are bantu knots, twist outs, finger coils, etc. Since this product is safe for the entire family, I will be using it to finger coil my son’s hair.
The most common complaint I come across regarding shopping black, is the lack of professionalism. In my experience, there is no lack of professionalism with this company. I have previously ordered from the Curfew website with ease using PayPal. If production of my product is delayed for any reason, Brittany will communicate that to me. In my opinion, the products are affordable. Not to mention, I love that they are branded and labeled with instructions, ingredients, and benefits. Safe to say, it’s safe to shop!
There are more product options provided at www.intobritsworld.com under the Curfew tab, as well as additional details not provided here.
Which all natural product will you be trying? I don’t blame you if you have plans to try them all. If you’d like me to do a follow up review on the products I will be using, please comment below. I look forward to hearing from you! Be sure to check back here for more posts from me @iam.tiffany.renee and share this one for your friends and family!
