Brainstorm
This is the foundation of your vision board. Seriously think about what you want to achieve for the new year. Write down a list of things that come to mind and from there, and then narrow it down to what’s most important. Your board should include things that motivate and inspire you.
Have a plan of action
Now that you’ve decided on what you want to put on your board it’s time to think about a plan of action. You see, the vision board works when you do. For example, if you want to be a homeowner think about ways that you need to work toward that like how to save money for the downpayment, increasing your credit score, researching on what you’ll be able to afford etc. Or if you want to increase business sales thinking about how your product or service will be useful to your customers and what marketing techniques you will use. Vision boards are more than just what you want. They serve as a motivation for how you can achieve it.
Be creative. Make it yours
No two vision boards will ever be the same. Your board should reflect who you are and how you want to feel when you look at it. Therefore, you should decorate it how you like. Use all types of decoration to design your board. The more creative you are the more you’ll be drawn to your board.

Take your time
You may be planning on attending vision board events in the next coming weeks don’t feel pressured to complete it in the time allotted. If you can that’s great, but if you can’t that’s fine too. This is your board with your vision with your dreams and goals you take as much time with it as you need.
Put it where you can see it
The point of the vision board is being able to look at it every day as a daily reminder to continue working toward your dreams and goals, but how will it help if it’s hung in a corner hidden from view? It’s not. Make sure you put it where you can see it like your living room, bedroom or home office. If you’re into planning make a mini vision board inside your planner to ensure that you’ll see it every day. You should also hang your board even if you’re not finished with it. Looking at what you’ve started will help manifest other ideas and help you add to it.

Update your board as needed
There is no rule that states once your board is finished it can’t be altered. On the contrary, it’s perfectly okay to add to your board or even remove things throughout the year. You can even make multiple boards having one for life, love, and business or if at any time you feel scrapping your board and starting over you can do that as well. Remember, your board, like you, is a constant work in progress.
