Can you believe it’s autumn already? Despite how fast time is flying, if you’re like me, fall is your favorite season so you’re certainly here for the changes. The air is crisper, the leaves stun our eyes with vivid colors and hues, and fall fashion is ready to be displayed. If you’re also like me, perhaps you have a few fashion staples that you consistently bring out when autumn comes. Here are four fall favorites that I typically can’t get enough of during this time of year. Maybe they’re your favorites, too. (Or they can be!)

Boots

To me, nothing says “autumn” quite like a pair of stylish boots. Whether mid-calf, over-the-knee, or ankle booties, the sound of my boots clicking on the ground as I make my way around town is bit like music to me. For the past several years, I favored the standard boots-over-skinny-jeans look, a quintessential fall style. However, I recently started wearing more booties, and I love the chic way they pair with a variety of different looks, especially with dresses/skirts.

Scarves

Confession: I own about 1,000 scarves, and I doubt that this number will stop rising. I don’t believe I’m the only one, either. While scarves are appropriate year-round, there’s just something about burrowing your chin into the warm scarf around your neck when the autumnal chill starts permeating the atmosphere. Not only that, said scarves are usually brimming with creativity and personality, based on the abundance of different patterns, colors, and textures available. I personally love infinity scarves, which allow me to have a chunky fullness around my neck.

Patterned Tights

A few autumns ago, I decided to ditch the tights I typically wore with my dresses and skirts and seek out the more decorative types of hosiery I was seeing around me. No more black or brown or gray—I wanted stripes and purples and lace. I certainly wasn’t disappointed. As more retail stores seemed to realize that female shoppers were ready to branch out, the patterns became bolder. For a season rich in color like autumn, patterned tights are a great way to match the electrifying shades around us.

Coats

Similar to the tights I mentioned above, I noticed that I was sticking to my style comfort zone when it came to my fall outer wear: lots of neutrals, particularly black and brown. I’m sure you identify with me. While there’s nothing wrong with these colors—please, slay in your neutrals whenever the mood hits you!—I wanted a bit of a change. It also didn’t hurt that some of my favorite fashion/style bloggers were inspiring me with their imaginative approach to coats. Again, with fall being a great season to play around with colors, I definitely want my outer wear to join in the fun.
