I think we all can agree, applying faux lashes can be intimidating to say the least. In addition to the intimidating part, some of us frown upon wearing lashes solely because we have seen them applied the wrong way far too many times! Don’t worry. I am going to provide you with some tips and tricks on how to apply faux strip lashes anxiety free and avoid those application “don’ts”. You can keep these tips to yourself and let your friends wonder how you became a pro overnight OR you can share and let everyone catch some vixen vibes from you and your girls! Let’s get started.
What I used:
- Urban Decay Eyeliner – Zero
- Faux Lashes: House of Lashes – Iconic
- Tweezers (or thumb and index finger)
- Colorpop – Creme Gel Liner Stomper
- Kat Von D Tattoo Liner – Trooper
- Mascara
- Duo Adhesive
- Trimming Scissors
Directions:
- Make sure new lashes are broken in and stretched
- Use your fingers nails to bend and break in the lash strip/band
- Cut your lashes to fit your eyes
- TIP: Measure lash to fit on the inside of your natural lash on both ends
- Line your lash line/ water line in short sweeping motions
- Line your lid with a liquid eyeliner
- Create a subtle or more dramatic eyeliner wing
- Connect corner of eye to the lid liner using a eyeliner pencil
- Apply mascara to natural top and bottom lashes
- Apply adhesive to the inside and top of eyelash strip
- Allow adhesive to dry before applying to eye
- Repeat application of adhesive to second eyelash strip
- Make sure the adhesive looks partially dry before application
- Place faux eyelash in the middle of eyeliner/lid
- Pull and place out end of faux eyelash on end of eyelid
- Pull and place inner end of faux eyelash on inside of eyelid
- Blink to assure eyelash is secure and comfortable

Hopefully, I’ve helped lower your anxiety level over applying faux strip lashes. My goal was to simplify it for beginners and provide tips on application for those who are already trying for themselves. In this video, I applied my first strip perfectly after one attempt. However, keep in mind I have been applying them for a while now. Remember the old saying, if at first you don’t succeed; try, try again. All it takes is a little practice.
