DIY - Seasonal Door Wreath - the Maria Antoinette

Nothing says SEASON GREETINGS like a custom Door Wreath. This quick DIY project will have your neighbors envious and your friends wanting to hire you to do their wreaths!

What you’ll need to complete this project:

Styrofoam Wreath

Styrofoam Balls in three sizes

Multiple Yarn and Twine

Burlap

Glue Gun and Glue Sticks

Mini Ornaments

Mini Bells

Wreath Holder

Wooden Letter – I used the first letter of our last name!

Spray paint of choice for the wooden letter

*All products purchased at Micheal’s with the use of coupons. I got everything for $32.43 excluding the glue gun and glue sticks.

I used the smooth Styrofoam Wreath and Balls to cut down on the mess, and so I could use the glue gun without melting the Styrofoam.

Multiple texture, colors of yarn and twine make this wreath! Don’t be afraid of trying different colors!!!

The gold spray paint I used to make our L shine!!!

Necessary to hang the wreath on when done…these come in all different materials and colors.

Start with hot gluing the burlap to the Styrofoam Wreath. I would place strips of hot glue periodically while wrapping the burlap to insure ultimate security.

I started with hot glue for my yarn balls but I ended up using adhesive spray to get the balls started. The glue and/or adhesive spray allowed me to wrap the yarn on the Styrofoam ball without it slipping off.

*I went to spray adhesive after I burned my hand..that being said be very careful!

All the balls are wrapped…

I placed my already spray painted “L” off center for an artistic approach.

Now it’s all about the placement of the balls…don’t over think this part!!!

Take the extra adornments and place them as you please. If you notice, I choice to not so show the hanging part of the ornaments. I liked the perfect shape of the balls and wanted to stay with that, but this would also look adorable with the ornament showing!!!
