The Hubs got a wild hair to take a day trip to Birmingham AL this past weekend. Being that is was a holiday weekend and B-Ham, as the locals call it, is only 4 hours away I said lets do it.  We got up at the crack of dawn and hoped on the road. We made it to my Hubsters old stomping grounds with time to spare for Sunday morning worship at The Worship Center. We got a great message and had even better company. I finally got to meet some of the Hubs’ friends which intern are now my friends. We talked it up, eat well and enjoyed our time together. Here is what I wore while taking in the incredible historical sites!

The Look:

Color block high – low dress (Target), when I saw this dress I knew I would be able to get many wears out of it the color combination is classic and the perfect backdrop to fall! I paired this dress with a khaki boyfriend cardigan (Target). I opted for a neutral cardigan verse pulling other colors from the dress to stay in the fall theme.

The Shoes:

Shoes can make or break an outfit..so I decided to go with an leather earth tone strap sandal with dark wooden details. (Kenneth Cole).

My Hair:

I let freedom ring on my afro…lol! This is the results of an 3 day old twist out and the Birmingham humility.

All in all this was a very simple yet pretty outfit that traveled great! We had an awesome day in Birmingham AL. This was my first time visiting and I know for sure it won’t be the last.

Here are some other great shoots from the day:
